Physically, the earth is a loose, crumbling, and unpredictable element. Yet, grounding ourselves within it becomes an essential phase of inner maturity and growth. Unconsciously, this deeply human journey of settling down and finding stability manifests upon the canvas layer by layer.

GROUNDING LAYER No. 2 (Sazemēšanās Slānis Nr. 2) is an original large-scale abstract painting that forms the second half of an expressive contemporary diptych.

Building upon dark, grounding undertones, this piece expands the dialogue through sweeping brushwork, tactile palette knife textures, and vibrant accents of warm ochre and terracotta.
